Refund Policy

Last updated: 7 May 2026

Jørnal subscriptions are processed by Lemon Squeezy as the Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy handles the billing, taxes, and the actual refund mechanics; this page is our short, plain-language statement of when and how a refund applies.

Cancel any time

You can cancel a Supporter subscription at any moment from the customer portal (linked from /settings). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period—you keep access until then, then the subscription ends and you’re back on the free tier.

Your custom books and the entries inside them stay; they just become read-only. If you ever resubscribe, write access resumes immediately.

No partial refunds

We don’t refund the unused portion of a billing period. If you cancel five days into a monthly subscription, you keep the remaining ~25 days of access; we don’t pro-rate the refund. Yearly subscriptions follow the same logic. This is the standard SaaS pattern; it keeps the price low and the policy predictable.

If something genuinely went wrong

Email hi@jornal.ink first—real humans read it. We’ll issue a refund through Lemon Squeezy if:

  • You were charged twice for the same period.
  • You subscribed by accident (e.g. a test charge, a mis-clicked renewal) and reach out within a few days.
  • The Service was materially down for an extended period during your billing window and you didn’t get to use what you paid for.
  • A genuine billing error on our end.

We’d rather sort it out by email than have you file a chargeback. Chargebacks are slow, expensive, and they don’t tell us what went wrong; an email gets a faster outcome for both of us.

EU consumers: 14-day cooling-off

Under EU consumer law, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services. At checkout, Lemon Squeezy asks you to expressly consent to immediate access. If you give that consent (which is necessary to start using the Service immediately) and you begin using paid features, the right to withdraw lapses—this is the standard lawful pattern for digital services. If you change your mind before using the paid features, email us within 14 days and we’ll process a full refund.

Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits the consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence. Where statutory rights exceed what’s promised here, those rights apply.
