Three ways to keep a copy of what you've written:
Full archive
Every entry as a Markdown file, bundled into one ZIP and named by date. Download it from Settings whenever you want. Always free, no expiration.
Incremental download
The same format, but only the entries written since you last downloaded. Useful for keeping a synced copy on your own machine without re-fetching everything each time. Part of the paid plan.
Email backup
A digest of recent entries delivered to your inbox on a weekly or monthly cadence. A backup that runs without you having to remember. Part of the paid plan.
One last commitment. If we ever shut Jørnal down, every account gets an email with the full archive attached. No exceptions, no fine print.
Find what you wrote, even when you can't remember the exact words.
Recall is a search that matches by meaning rather than literal words. You type a question in your own language—"the time I felt lost in Madrid", "early morning entries", "the week I started running"—and Recall returns entries whose contents fit the idea, even if you never used those exact words.
Each entry gets a fingerprint as you write—a small mathematical signature on our own servers. When you search, your question gets a fingerprint too, and the closest matches by meaning come back.
Fingerprints stay scoped to your account; they're never shared, never used to train anything, never sent to a third-party. And we definitely don't use any AI providers.

Supporter (€6 / month, €60 / year) gets you backups on a schedule, Recall, and custom books for different threads of writing. The app itself stays free; Supporter keeps the servers running. Pause or cancel any time; you will never lose what you've written.
